About the Event

A spectre is haunting Europe - the spectre of economic stagnation, public spending cuts and unemployment. All the powers of establishment forces - the government, the business lobby and the right wing press - have entered into a holy alliance, determined to make working people pay for the profligacy, irresponsibility and incompetence of the banks. As a result, broken Britain is characterised by deep social, economic and political divisions leading to anger, despair and more recently crime. What is to be done?

It is high time that workers and their unions should openly and proudly publish their views, their aims and their tendencies and meet the capitalist agenda with a manifesto of their own. Fairness, equality and solidarity should once again come centre stage, with trade unions and collective bargaining playing a leading role.

TUC Congress may be smaller in size and shorter in length this year but the issues to be addressed could not be bigger. Show your support for our Manifesto for Trade Unionists and swell the ranks of TUC delegates by joining us at this open event.
