Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell was a surprise guest speaker at our lunchtime fringe event at the Labour Party Conference today, and he took to the platform to tell the packed room that Labour has moved on from supporting the Manifesto to considering the details of its implementation.

Having already told Conference that Labour would look to implement the IER's 25 policy proposals in his key-note speech this morning, McDonnell confirmed to delegates at our fringe that his team are currently looking into the practicalities of implementing the recommendations, including poring over the details with fellow MPs and stakeholders.

Also speaking at our Fringe was Andi Foxx of the TSSA, who announced her union's support of the Manifesto, joining other major backers including UNITE, UNISON, GMB, FBU, NUJ, NUT, UCU and BFAWU.
