300 Sports Direct workers file legal claims

The workers were excluded from their bonus scheme because they were on zero-hours contracts. The scheme paid out about £160m in shares in 2013, but only to “permanent” workers.

The Deregulation Bill entered report stage in the House of Lords today (February 3). The Lords began the session with discussion on the exemption of self-employed persons from the requirements of Section 3(2) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

The latest GDP figures were published this Tuesday (27 Jan) by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Annual growth has finally picked up pace, and was the fastest since the financial crisis of 2007, however the recovery slowed in the final quarter.
