VIDEO: John Hendy on how a TUC general strike could be legal
IER Chair John Hendy QC spoke to Union News at TUC Congress 2012 last week about how a general strike could be legal, should the TUC decide to go ahead with a day of action.
Mr Hendy coauthored the employment law book Days of Action with IER President Professor Keith Ewing in which the legal argument behind the right of trade unions to hold a general strike is detailed. Their briefing was mentioned during the debate on Motion 5 - to consider the practicalities of a general strike - and has been flying off the shelves since that motion was passed.
