Zoe Adams

Zoe graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge, with a degree in Law in 2013. Since then, she has been working for the CBR (Centre for Business Research) alongside Professor Simon Deakin on a number of projects. Her research focuses on the interaction of politics, law and public policy with a particular reference to labour law, public law and EU law. She will complete her Legal Practice Course in June 2014 and will begin an LLM at the EUI, Florence, in September 2014.

The casualisation of working life is a huge problem in Britain today and Zero Hours Contracts (ZHCs) are just its most extreme form. It is caused by a dysfunctional employment law and the disappearance of the safety net formerly provided by social security law.
