The Equal Pay Act at 40 conference focussed on the implications of 40 years of the Equal Pay Act, how such legislation has been incorporated into the Equality Act the implications of the most recent casework and the broader ramifications of unequal pay still marring our workplaces.

just some of the ways delegates described our seminar. The focus of the seminar was around the legal definitions of racism in employment; migrant workers and racism and how the economic environment has distorted understanding of racism.
The first speaker was Rakesh Patel from Thompsons Solicitors who outlined race dsicrimination as outlined in the Equality Act, previous legislation and the manifestations of racism as defined by the law
Update on equalities: where are we?
About the conference
The Update on Equalities conference focussed on the Equality Act as passed in October, outstanding sections of the Act which have yet to be passed and a broader approach to equalities throughout society and in the workplace. 2010 marked the 4th annual equalities conference.
