Larry Cohen chairs the board of Our Revolution, the successor organization to Bernie 2016, and is the past President of the Communications Workers of America.

Sarah Veale was Head of the Equality and Employment Rights Department at the Trades Union Congress (TUC), where she worked since 1985. She was a member of the TUC team which negotiated the agreement with the CBI and the Government that formed the basis of the Temporary Agency Work Directive; she was also responsible for the development of TUC policy on employment law. Sarah was awarded the CBE for services to diversity in 2006. Since retiring from the TUC she has worked on the ‘Workplace 2020’ initiative, as well as continuing to be active across the movement.

Aristea joined the University of Manchester School of Law in September 2014. She holds a PhD from Warwick Business School and in the past worked at the Universities of Cambridge, Warwick, Manchester Business School and Lancaster. During part of her research, she was visiting fellow at IDHE (École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, France) and the Uppsala Forum on Peace, Democracy and Justice (University of Uppsala, Sweden). She is currently research associate at the Centre for Business Research (University of Cambridge), the London Centre for Corporate Governance and Ethics (Birkbeck College) and the New Zealand Work and Labour Market Institute (Auckland Technical University). She is a member (non-practising lawyer) of the Iraklio Bar (Greece), the Transnational Trade Union Rights Experts of the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) and the executive committee of the Institute of Employment Rights. She serves currently as a member of the ESRC Peer Review Council.

Alex Just

Alex Just was a barrister at Old Square Chambers, where he specialised in employment and trade union law. Alex is a former President of the Oxford Union and was the Frances Perkins Fellow at the Cornell School of Industrial and Labour Relations, where he published research on the ability of trade unions to take strike action. Alex is an active Labour Party member in Ealing and is currently an Associate Partner at a specialist communications consultancy, specialising in campaigns and litigation and crisis communications.

Ralph Darlington is Professor of Employment Relations at Salford Business School, University of Salford. His main research is concerned with the dynamics of trade union organisation, activity and consciousness in Britain and internationally within both contemporary and historical settings. Ralph has authored, co-authored and edited six books, including The Dynamics of Workplace Unionism (1994), The Political Trajectory of J.T. Murphy (1998), Glorious Summer: Class Struggle, 1972 (2001), Syndicalism and the Transition to Communism: An International Comparative Analysis (2008), What’s the Point of Industrial Relations?: In Defence of Critical Social Science (2009), and Radical Unionism (2013). He is an executive member of the British Universities Industrial Relations Association (BUIRA), executive board member of the International Association of Strikes and Social Conflict, and secretary of the Manchester Industrial Relations Society.

Özlem Onaran is Professor of Economics at the University of Greenwich and the director of the Greenwich Political Economy Research Centre. She has done extensive research on issues of inequality, wage-led growth, employment, globalization, gender, and crises. She has directed research projects for the UN International Labour Organisation, UNCTAD, the Institute for New Economic Thinking, the Foundation of European Progressive Studies, the Vienna Chamber of Labour, the Austrian Science Foundation, and Unions21. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Foundation of European Progressive Studies, Scientific Advisory Board of Hans Boeckler Foundation, and the Policy Advisory Group of the Women’s Budget Group, a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Research Network Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies, and a research associate at the Political Economy Research Institute of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has more than seventy articles in books and leading peer-reviewed journals such as the Cambridge Journal of Economics, World Development, Environment and Planning A, Public Choice, Economic Inquiry, European Journal of Industrial Relations, International Review of Applied Economics, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, Eastern European Economics, and Review of Political Economy.
